About

Hello, this is a Singapore mum’s blog: I’m Jane Ng, a former journalist who has given up her job to stay home with her kids. This was my bittersweet last column for Sunday Lifestyle when I was still working full-time. I’m still writing the parenting column regularly for Sunday Life. I answered some questions from readers about my decision here, and also updated about my life as a stay-at-home-mum and talked about my routine.

This blog is where I chat about what I love:

Kids

Jason is 11, Shannon is 8 and Sarah is 1. He is the boisterous korkor who now enjoys reading more than soccer. Shannon is the girly meimei turned jiejie who says she is over the wonderful world of ballerinas and princesses. The littlest one is also the funniest, most manja, the cheekiest…

Joy

I miss snuggling up with a good book, while having some cookies and coffee. I also love to craft. These days, my world revolves around the kids and the things they enjoy. So weekend excursions, short getaways to Malaysia and frequent trips to the library and secondhand bookstores are now our jam.

Home

After going maidless 5 years ago, I realised I have a penchant for an organised home. I’m a closet organising junkie! My idea of a good time? Re-organising the wordrobe/storeroom/study etc. Cleaning is another matter, and not my idea of a good time. Cooking, meanwhile, is essential for survival, so I do it stoically.

A year after Sarah’s arrival, we decided to get help and we’re adjusting our lives all over again!

Hi, I am fr St Nicks too, 1990 batch. Which yr r u? A few paragraphs into the article on ST, already sensed u r fr St Nicks. Since u r writing on Parenting & Education in new column, may I make a suggestion? Would love to read something more in depth, such as educators’ perspective & the issues on implementation + what they would like to communicate to parents. Likewise, the parents view & if there is a gap in expectations. Case studies & trends in other countries would make it even more interesting.
